Experience the calming and healing power of sound, vibration, and frequency. Music, vibration, and sound have been used in healing ceremonies for centuries and in more recent history, to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities, boost immunity and to treat pain and illness. ‘Sound healing’ or ‘sound therapy’ is a gentle yet powerful modality of energy work that has been gaining recognition, attention, and popularity in recent years.
What to expect:
Our bodies are 75% water, and as a pebble creates ripples when tossed into a pond, vibrations and frequencies can have a profound effect on our physical and emotional bodies right down to the cellular level. Sound therapy can gently loosen stuck energies, ease stress, and allow for a greater sense of mindfulness, connectedness, well-being, and harmony within the physical and spiritual body.
During the session you will be bathed in gentle vibrations from instruments like Tibetan Singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, chimes, gongs and drums with Reiki performed at your head or feet.
Physical benefits may be lowered blood pressure, reduced heart rate & respiration rate, better sleep and temporary relief of physical pain. Psychological or spiritual benefits such as a sense of calm and relaxation, a more accessible meditative state, improved clarity and peace of mind, and a more centered and grounded presence may also be realized. Sound healing is an immersive but ‘safe’ and non-invasive modality, and you need no musical knowledge to receive and appreciate the benefits.
About Tom:
Tom is a lifelong music lover, and musician and holds degrees in both musical performance and music business. Since discovering these ancient, healing instruments and the power that they hold, he has been working with Tibetan/Himalayan bowls and other antique & modern instruments on his own healing journey for over 3 years now.
He is a Certified Master Sound Practitioner and graduate of the School of Sound & Healing; Angel Light, LLC, Elm Grove, WI and is also a member of the Sound Healers Association (SHA). He is also trained as a Reiki level 1 practitioner under the USUI System of Healing, initiated by Reiki Master and teacher, Jamie Kuhn.
About Jenny:
Jenny Bergold started practicing yoga in 1999 and teaching in 2009. Jenny discovered yoga to calm the body and strengthen the mind. Jenny has her 200 Hour Hatha certification from Heaven Meets Earth Yoga in Evanston, IL and her 200 Hour Kundalini certification from Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago, IL. Jenny is also certified in Prenatal, Restorative, Yin, and Radiant Child Yoga. Jenny's classes and sound healings focus on the mind and meditation, healing the body through asana, and uplifting the spirit through inspiration.
